Pickles (12/14/08)

When I read this strip in the newspaper, it was missing the second panel in which the balding man tells his friend how his day is going. This made it seem like the Twain-quoting man was the real instigator by virtue of his asking a question, not waiting for an answer, and then launching into a longwinded elaboration of a point he was dying to make. That sounds more like political discourse to me than the second man’s thoroughly reasonable counter-interpretation of the Twain quote. I’ve never had frog legs, so I can’t comment on the merits of either interpretation.
