Cul de Sac (1/4/09)

The middle panel in this strip is a Laurel and Hardy gag waiting to happen. If there’s one steadfast rule in comedy it’s that no ladder remains upright for more than a few seconds, especially when there’s a person clinging to the top rungs. Placing a surly warthog at the base of the ladder will only make the whole thing topple faster, either from repeated tusking of the lower rungs or from nervous swaying and grasping of the upper rungs.
