Frazz (3/4/09)

Frazz has a tendency to indulge in playful wordplay, but rarely with the elegance that’s on display here. While most strips that travel this road end up delivering preening puns or smart-alecky observations, today’s Frazz avoids those pitfalls by rendering a perfectly timed, refined conversation and culminating in a punchline that offers food for thought. I don’t think there’s anything profound in this strip, but I do enjoy the subtle and inventive use of language to carry the day; not an easy feat in a medium that encourages outrageous antics and exaggerated drawings.
