Monty (4/10/09)

At first glance, it seems as if the cat in this strip is chasing after his trick rabbit out of some feral instinct. That seems reasonable, since cats have been known to feast on bunnies from time to time. But I’m guessing that a hairless feline who’s been domesticated to the point of wearing a tuxedo would be motivated by something completely different. Think about it: one minute this cat is playing the role of adorable house-pet turned magician and the next minute he’s playing second fiddle to an irresistible woodland creature. That’s enough to spark jealousy in even the most easygoing feline.
