There’s something inspiring about seeing an inventive (albeit grotesque) alien monster rise from the same clay that’s produced a half-dozen generic coil pots. It’s too bad that creativity was punished with a dunce cap and a trip to the corner. In fact, I’d argue that the extra-terrestrial critter in this strip looks more confused than angry. Maybe he’s in awe of the creator who crafted him from base clay. Maybe he’s trying to find his place in a world populated by shocked children and coil pots. Or maybe his expression connotes hunger, given how much those pots resemble short stacks of pancakes. If only someone had sculpted a bottle of maple syrup…
