Dog Eat Doug (5/22/10)

One of the nice things about owning a home is having your very own backyard. Mine is small, but it was beautifully maintained by the previous owners. They even added a wood awning to the back of the house, and the thought of relaxing in the shade with a freshly grilled hamburger was a real selling point for me. Unfortunately, the awning was never finished. Two long pieces of wood were glued to the underside of the roof in order to give it a more finished look, but many more pieces were needed to complete the job. Now that I’ve moved in, a handful of birds have taken up residence in the crevice between the planks and the roof. I’m afraid that if I don’t take the planks down soon, their nest will grow to truly mammoth proportions.
