Pardon My Planet (7/22/10)

Anyone who’s bought flowers lately knows they can be expensive. My wife and I bought three roses for our wedding ceremony, which we gave to my mother, her mother, and her grandmother. The roses were a nice gesture, suggested to us by our Justice of the Peace. They also cost $40 at a downtown florist. I’m used to buying flowers at the grocery store and paying considerably less. (They last for weeks, too!) Needless to say, my wife and I had other things on our minds when we bought these flowers, and we decided not to stress about the price. But we did think it was costly. When we get around to buying houseplants, we’ll know better than to visit high-end boutiques. We’ll probably patronize a local florist instead…or a home improvement chain…or maybe even a grocery store.
