Bliss (8/5/10)

One of my aunts earned a degree in opera in 1990 and went on to an illustrious career…in healthcare. She still has a remarkable voice, of course, but she’s never put it to use as a professional. I’ve heard her sing in church choirs and at funeral masses, but never on stage (save for her senior thesis performance). Still, the remnants of her opera obsession litter her home in New Hampshire; there are books and compact discs, of course, and even though I haven’t seen it yet, I’m holding out hope that there’s also an enormous Phantom of the Opera mask hidden somewhere in the attic.
