Yesterday was a beautiful day in Chicago. A beautiful day for yardwork, that is. I spent the afternoon raking leaves, pulling weeds, and gathering debris. I also mowed, edged, and watered the lawn. But despite all that work, I was left with a brown patch in my front yard. I thought about buying fertilizer and/or grass seed to coax the brown back to green, but it seemed a little late in the year for that. I decided to tackle the unsightly patch next spring, and to try my best to ignore it this fall. Oh well, at least it’s a spot of brown in a sea of green and not a spot of green in a sea of brown.
